Devotion 12.10.09
What is within us that makes us want to find scapegoats for our
mistakes? When something goes wrong or we slip up in our walk with
God, we throw the blame at the devil. Sure, he's the one that tempted
us, but the choice to give in or not was ours!
Romans 6:14 says "For sin shall not have dominion over you..." and
verse 18 says "And having been set free from sin, you became slaves to
righteousness."
This states that sin and satan, have absolute no control over us if
we're sons and daughters of God and claim ourselves as Christians! The
blame for our mistakes cannot be placed on anyone but ourselves, plain
and simple!
So how do we want to present ourselves to the world: the finger
pointers, the liars, the weak-of-heart? Or do we want to be
categorirized with those Mighty-in-Christ? (personally, I'd pick the
last one).
