Blinded By The Light

Luke11:34-36. "Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is bad, your body is filled with darkness. Make sure that the light you think you have is not actually darkness. If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light!" "Your Word, Lord, is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." (Ps119:105). When our eyes are on the Word, when we're living according to the Word, we are radiant lights! That's also how we tell if it's truly light we're shinning, or if we just think we're shinning light, but we're really not! Are we living by Jesus' standards? The standards He set--ARE: to love God and one another and to be obedient!--ARE NOT: to profess we're christians but at the same time gossip, cuss, party-get drunk and do drugs, forget to take care of ourselves physically or psychologically, argue with our parent/gaurdians, create strife with our friends or siblings, act hateful, etc! These are the dark corners we ALL hate having to turn the light onto! Not necessarilly because we don't want 2 stop doing these things (although that may be the case), but usually because we're ashamed to have to let these things out in the open to fix them! But that's what it takes! It takes embarrassing sin to get rid of sin! It's the sinful nature inside of us that gets embarrassed when we confront these dark corners with a flashlight-the Bible. But our Spirit Man is cheering us on the whole way. That tinge of embarrassment is SOOO worth purifying and brightening our light so that EVERYONE will see it! Even people we don't know that just pass us in the hallway will see it! People are drawn to light! God is the light in us, His Word brings it out! So, confront your dark corners and exalt God's light, causing Him to shine brighter and brighter from within you!
